About Thanet Animal Cemetery in Kent

The Animal Cemetery in Kent was established in 1974 and is the only one in the county. The setting was chosen for its peace and tranquillity and today is home for thousands of dearly loved – and most definitely not forgotten pets.

If your pet has died or you are awaiting a loss, please accept our sincerest condolences. We know that the loss of a much loved and cherished pet can be a devastating experience for all concerned (see bereavement services).

Unfortunately, there will come a time of parting, and, even though the whole thing is tinged with grief it is a comfort to know that your pet can be remembered and cared for in death – just as we do a loved one who has passed away.

A burial at The Animal Cemetery in Kent is a final and fitting farewell for a much loved pet, and can help in the grieving process and the act of gaining closure.

Your pet will have his or her own individual grave which can be marked with a headstone (available from Thanet Stone, 01843 822840), or your own plaque which can be placed where you and your family can visit and pay respects.

Please be reassured that we will always carry out your wishes with the utmost care and compassion.

We know that you and your pet have enjoyed many years together and we can help you to cherish those memories every time you visit our pet cemetery.

The gardens are maintained to a high standard and constantly evolve, with sections replanted and improved to keep the cemetery in a pristine state.

We invite you to come and visit our cemetery before making any decisions regarding a burial, as people have different ideas to what a pet cemetery looks like.

The cemetery is open to visitors at any time.
